On a recent holiday to Alleypey Backwaters.
I realised that WHY GO ON A HOLIDAY WHEN EVERY DAY IS A VACATION here at home in Kavvayi backwaters.
Good! Let the tourists flock to Alleypey and let us enjoy our Kavvayi backwaters.

Alleypey seaweed...African Payal..

Common name: African Payal. Scientific name: Salvinia auriculata

This sea weed is NOT PRESENT in Kavvayi backwaters.

In Backwaters of south kerala like Alleypey, Cochin, Trichur, Kottayam etc this has arguably spoilt the beauty of the backwaters.

It spreads furiously fast and in almost uncontrollable. It has spoilt the Oooty lake too and other picturesque places of India.

Leave only your footprints back.

Whoever said " If there is Paradise on earth then it is here in Kashmir" .........Did not see Kavvayi Backwaters then.
Two years since last post and have seen the immense increase in interest in beautiful Kavvayi backwaters.
Great to see the Visitors behaving responsibly by carrying back their garbage and leaving Kavvayi as beautiful as before.
