On a recent holiday to Alleypey Backwaters.I realised that WHY GO ON A HOLIDAY WHEN EVERY DAY IS A VACATION here at home in Kavvayi backwaters.

Common name: African Payal. Scientific name: Salvinia auriculata This sea weed is NOT PRESENT in Kavvayi backwaters.
In Backwaters of south kerala like Alleypey, Cochin, Trichur, Kottayam etc this has arguably spoilt the beauty of the backwaters.
It spreads furiously fast and in almost uncontrollable. It has spoilt the Oooty lake too and other picturesque places of India.
